Main problem
Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. More than a third of Muslims are concentrated in Africa and the Middle East. Due to a rapid growth of Muslim population across Africa and Asia, there is a shortage of Mosques and Islamic Educational Centers, especially in rural areas. I AM PART OF is here to provide Muslim communities with a comfortable place to worship. Our mission is to build new Mosques and renovate existing ones across rural areas in Africa and Asia.
Our approach
Step 1
Collecting information
Before we start our project in a particular region, we collect date about the region’s demography, local religions, and whether people have access to places of worship.
Step 2
Forming village committees
Once information is collected, we engage with the local religious leaders – Imams and state authorities to form a working group and to make sure we are fully supported on all levels.
Step 3
Providing training
Once the Mosque/Islamic Educational Center is constructed or renovated, the local community members are trained on how to maintain it and keep it in good shape.
Step 4
GPS coordinates
The final step is to equip each Mosque/Islamic Educational Center with GPS coordinates. Should you decide to visit a particular site to make sure your donations are spent as promised, these coordinates will help you locate the mosque.
